TypeMaths is a free online calculator that keeps every line. Type a fraction, a power, a root or sin 30 the way it is written on the page, press = and the answer appears on the line below — rounded to the decimal places you set, in degrees or radians. Type a formula with letters in it and = asks for their values, substitutes them and records the values next to the answer. Add it to your home screen and it opens like any other calculator.

TypeMaths does not do your maths for you. It removes everything between having a thought and seeing it written down properly.
The keyboard has ÷ for a fraction, x² and xⁿ for powers, √, π and sin — or type sqrt, pi, cos and tan by name. What you type is typeset as a fraction, a power, a root, not a line of brackets.
Press = and the line is evaluated underneath the calculation, so the question and the answer are both still there. Ten calculations later you can still see the first one.
Type a formula as it appears in the book — A = P(1 + r/n)^nt — and press =. TypeMaths asks for P, r, n and t, substitutes them and writes the values above the answer. Change one value and evaluate again.
Press Enter and the line copies down, so a second case, a check, or the next step edits what is already there instead of retyping it.

Physics
Work the algebra the way you would on paper. When you reach numbers, TypeMaths evaluates them — with your rounding and angle units.

Binomial theorem
Type \choose or \binom for n-choose-k and keep working. When a line reaches numbers, TypeMaths evaluates it — binomials included.

It works with formulas, not for you. Type A = P(1 + r/n)^nt and press = and it asks for P, r, n and t, substitutes them, and writes the answer with the values recorded beside it. It does not solve for an unknown, expand, factorise or differentiate — you type that working yourself, and it checks the numbers when you get to them.
In Settings. Choose how many decimal places answers are rounded to and whether trigonometric functions take degrees or radians; every evaluated line on the page follows the setting.
